Monitor Lizard

A monitor lizard is a large, active reptile belonging to the Varanidae family, found mainly in Africa, Asia, and Australia. Known for their agility and keen senses, they have sturdy bodies, long tails, and powerful limbs with sharp claws. They are carnivorous, feeding on insects, small animals, and sometimes larger prey. Monitor lizards are excellent swimmers and climbers, often inhabiting diverse environments such as forests, grasslands, and wetlands. They play important roles in their ecosystems as both predators and scavengers. Despite their impressive looks and behavior, many species are threatened by habitat loss and hunting.
