Mongol Law (Yassa)
Mongol Law, known as Yassa, was a code of guidelines established by Genghis Khan to unify and govern the diverse aspects of the empire. It emphasized discipline, loyalty, and military efficiency, covering areas like justice, social conduct, and governance. The Yassa promoted strict laws against theft, treason, and dishonesty, while also incorporating practices to maintain order and loyalty among Mongol warriors and subjects. Although not written in a formal legal code, it served as an overarching moral and administrative framework, helping to ensure stability across the vast and culturally diverse Mongol Empire.
