Monaural Sound

Monaural sound, or mono sound, refers to audio that is recorded or played through a single channel or speaker. Unlike stereo sound, which uses two channels to create a sense of space and directionality, mono combines all audio information into one signal. This means that regardless of where you listen from, the sound remains the same everywhere. Monaural is often used in situations where simplicity, clarity, or compatibility is priority, such as in telephony, intercom systems, or older audio recordings. It provides a straightforward listening experience without the spatial cues that stereo sound offers.
