Momentum

Momentum refers to the quantity of motion an object has, which depends on its mass and velocity. Think of it as an object's "stubbornness" to change its movement: the greater the mass or speed, the harder it is to stop or alter its course. In physics, momentum is a vector quantity, meaning it has both size and direction. For example, a fast-moving truck has more momentum than a slow bicycle, making it more difficult to bring to a stop. Momentum helps explain how objects interact and transfer motion during collisions or other forces.
