Moments

In physics, moments are quantities that measure how much a force causes an object to rotate around a point or axis. Think of turning a door: the further from the hinges you push, the easier it is to open. That "push" distance is part of the moment. Mathematically, a moment is the product of the force applied and the distance from the pivot point. Moments help us understand and calculate levers, torque in engines, and how forces affect the rotation and stability of structures. Essentially, they quantify how forces cause objects to turn or twist.
