Molecular cloud

A molecular cloud is a dense, cold region of space made up mostly of hydrogen molecules, where new stars are born. These clouds are vast, often containing enough material to create thousands of stars, and are characterized by their thick concentration of gas and dust, which blocks light. The low temperatures allow hydrogen atoms to bond into molecules, creating the perfect environment for star formation. Astronomers study molecular clouds to understand how stars and planetary systems develop in the universe.
