Mole ratio
A mole ratio is a way to compare the amounts of different substances involved in a chemical reaction, based on their balanced coefficients in the reaction equation. It shows how many moles of one substance react with or produce a certain number of moles of another substance. For example, if the balanced reaction says 2 moles of substance A react with 3 moles of substance B, the mole ratio of A to B is 2:3. This ratio helps chemists predict quantities needed or produced, making it essential for understanding and controlling chemical processes.
