Molars

Molars are large, flat teeth located at the back of your mouth, primarily responsible for grinding and chewing food. They have broad surfaces with ridges (cusps) that help break down tough and fibrous foods, making swallowing easier. Adults typically have 12 molars, including the wisdom teeth, which usually emerge in late teens or early twenties. Molars are essential for proper digestion and overall oral health, as they support chewing efficiency and maintain jaw structure. Their size, shape, and number can vary slightly between individuals, but their main role remains the same—to process food thoroughly before swallowing.
