moiré patterns

Moiré patterns are visual effects created when two sets of lines or grids are overlaid at slightly different angles or spacings. This interference causes new, often shimmering or wavy, patterns that aren't present in the original images. These patterns can appear in printed images, screens, or fabrics, resulting from the interaction of fine details that, when viewed together, produce larger, more noticeable designs. Essentially, moiré patterns are a visual result of the overlapping structures interacting, creating unintentionally striking or sometimes distracting visual effects.
