Mohr's method

Mohr's method is a technique used in soil mechanics to determine the ultimate bearing capacity of a footing, which is the maximum load a foundation can support before failure. It involves performing two tests: one where the soil is loaded until it fails (failure load), and another where the same soil is loaded in steps until it reaches a state called "consolidation" (consolidation load). By plotting these results and analyzing their relationship, engineers can estimate the maximum load the soil can safely carry, helping ensure structures are designed securely and efficiently.
