Mohammad (Muhammad)
Muhammad, also known as Muhammad ibn Abdullah, was a 7th-century religious and political leader born in Mecca. He is considered the founder of Islam, a major world religion, as he received divine revelations from God (Allah) that formed the Quran, Islam’s holy book. Muslims believe Muhammad is the last prophet sent to guide humanity. His teachings emphasize worship of one God, compassion, justice, and moral conduct. He united various Arabian tribes and established a faith that has grown into a global community. Muhammad’s life and message continue to influence over a billion people worldwide today.
