Modified Mallampati Score

The Modified Mallampati Score is a way for healthcare providers to assess how easy or difficult it might be to insert a breathing tube during anesthesia. It involves having the patient open their mouth widely and sticking out their tongue, then examining the visibility of the back of the throat, including the tonsils and uvula (the soft tissue hanging at the back). Different visibility levels are ranked from Class I to IV. A higher score suggests a potentially more challenging intubation, helping doctors prepare appropriately for safe airway management.
