Modified comparative negligence

Modified comparative negligence is a legal principle used in personal injury cases to determine fault and compensation. It means that if you are partially responsible for an accident, your ability to claim damages depends on your level of fault. However, there’s a limit: if you are found to be more than a certain percentage (often 50%) at fault, you cannot recover any damages. If your fault is below that threshold, your compensation is reduced proportionally to your degree of responsibility. This system aims to fairly assign blame while allowing victims to recover damages if they are not primarily responsible.
