Modern Test Theory
Modern Test Theory (MTT) is a framework used to develop and evaluate assessments, such as exams or surveys, ensuring they accurately measure what they're intended to. Unlike traditional methods that focus solely on test scores, MTT considers both the test items and the individual's underlying ability or trait. It accounts for measurement error and provides more precise estimates of a person’s true ability. This approach allows for better test design, fairer comparisons, and more reliable interpretations, especially when measuring complex qualities like intelligence, personality, or skills across diverse populations.
