Models of memory
Models of memory describe how our brain processes and stores information. The most common model divides memory into three types: sensory memory, which briefly holds information from our senses; short-term memory, which temporarily stores and manipulates information we are actively thinking about; and long-term memory, where information is stored more permanently for later use. These models help explain how we experience, retain, and recall information, emphasizing that memory involves multiple stages and processes working together.
