Models of Disability
Models of disability are ways of understanding how disability occurs and how society relates to it. The **Medical Model** sees disability as a problem inside the individual that needs treatment or cure. The **Social Model** views disability as a result of societal barriers and attitudes that prevent inclusion. The **Bio-Psycho-Social Model** combines both, recognizing biological, psychological, and social factors influence disability. These models help shape policies and support services, emphasizing either personal health or societal change to improve quality of life and accessibility for people with disabilities.
