Mobile Riverine Force

The Mobile Riverine Force (MRF) was a military unit formed by the United States during the Vietnam War, combining naval and ground forces. Its main purpose was to conduct operations in areas with dense waterways and marshland, which were often difficult for traditional forces to access. The MRF used boats, helicopters, and infantry to execute patrols, engage in combat, and support counterinsurgency efforts. This strategic integration allowed the U.S. to effectively operate in Vietnam's challenging terrain and improve mobility and responsiveness in combat situations. The MRF played a significant role in riverine warfare during the conflict.
