Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) refers to the disproportionately high rates of Indigenous women who go missing or are murdered in North America. This crisis highlights systemic issues, including violence, neglect, and lack of adequate investigation and support for Indigenous communities. Many cases remain unresolved, raising concerns about racial disparities, historical trauma, and barriers to justice. Raising awareness about MMIW seeks to honor victims, promote accountability, and push for policies that ensure safety and justice for Indigenous women.
