Misanthrope

A misanthrope is someone who generally dislikes or distrusts human nature and people's behavior. They often find social interactions frustrating or disappointing and may prefer to keep their distance from others. This attitude can stem from personal experiences, philosophical beliefs, or a critical view of society. While not necessarily hostile, misanthropes tend to be skeptical of human motives and may feel more comfortable alone or with a smaller, trusted circle rather than engaging widely with others. Their outlook reflects a tendency to see flaws or shortcomings in humanity overall.
