
Mirosław Hermaszewski
Mirosław Hermaszewski was a Polish astronaut and engineer, born in 1937. He is best known for being the first and only Polish citizen to travel to space, participating in the Soviet Soyuz 30 mission in 1978. As an accomplished pilot and military officer, he demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery. His spaceflight contributed to international cooperation in space exploration and elevated Poland’s presence in astronautics. After his mission, he continued his career in engineering and served as a symbol of scientific achievement and national pride in Poland.
