Minutemen
The Minutemen were a colonial militia during the American Revolution, composed of civilian volunteers prepared to assemble quickly for defensive or offensive actions. Their name reflected their readiness to fight "at a minute's notice." Organized locally, they played a key role in early battles against British forces, embodying local resistance and self-reliance. Unlike regular army soldiers, Minutemen were ordinary citizens trained to respond promptly to threats, contributing significantly to the colonies' push for independence. They symbolized grassroots patriotism and the collective effort of colonists to defend their rights and liberties.
