Minority-serving Institutions

Minority-serving institutions (MSIs) are colleges and universities that primarily serve students from underrepresented racial or ethnic groups. They include historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), tribal colleges, and others that focus on supporting students who may face barriers to higher education. These institutions play a vital role in increasing access, promoting diversity, and providing tailored resources and programs to help their students succeed academically and professionally. Essentially, MSIs work to ensure underrepresented groups have opportunities for higher education and advancement.
