Minkowski Metric
The Minkowski metric is a mathematical way to describe space and time together in Einstein's theory of special relativity. Unlike regular three-dimensional space, it treats time as a fourth dimension intertwined with length, width, and height. This combined framework allows us to measure distances and durations between events, accounting for how they might appear differently to observers moving relative to each other. It introduces a way to distinguish between the structure of space and time, using a specific set of rules (called a metric) that preserves the consistency of physical laws across different frames of reference.
