MiniDisc

MiniDisc is a digital optical disc storage format introduced in the early 1990s, primarily used for data and audio recording. It resembles a small, portable CD-sized disc but uses a miniature disc (about 64 mm in diameter). MiniDiscs store audio digitally with high quality, allowing users to record, erase, and re-record multiple times—similar to a tape but in digital form. They are commonly used for personal recordings, archival storage, and portable music players, offering durability, convenience, and sound fidelity. Although less common today, MiniDiscs were valued for their robustness and ease of use compared to traditional tapes.
