Minié rifle

The Minié rifle was a type of firearm developed in the mid-19th century that improved accuracy and range for infantry soldiers. It used a conical-shaped bullet called a Minié ball, which expanded when fired to fit tightly into the barrel. This allowed soldiers to load the rifle faster than traditional muskets while maintaining greater accuracy and distance. The Minié rifle played a significant role in warfare, notably during the American Civil War, transforming military tactics by enabling soldiers to shoot farther and more accurately than before.
