Miner's lung disease (Pneumoconiosis)
Miner's lung disease, or pneumoconiosis, is a lung condition caused by inhaling dust particles, like coal or silica, over many years. These tiny particles settle deep in the lungs, leading to inflammation, scarring, and reduced lung function. Symptoms may include coughing, shortness of breath, and respiratory discomfort. It primarily affects workers in mining and related industries. While the disease cannot be cured, preventing exposure with protective gear and proper ventilation can reduce risk. Over time, the scarring may worsen, impairing breathing and overall health.
