mindset theories

Mindset theories explore how individuals’ beliefs about their abilities influence their behavior and success. The most well-known, developed by psychologist Carol Dweck, distinguishes between a fixed mindset—believing abilities are static and unchangeable—and a growth mindset—believing skills can develop through effort and learning. Those with a growth mindset tend to embrace challenges, persist through setbacks, and see effort as a path to improvement. Conversely, fixed mindset individuals may avoid difficult tasks and feel threatened by others' success. These beliefs shape motivation, resilience, and overall achievement across various areas of life.
