Mimicry Complex

A mimicry complex refers to a biological scenario where multiple species adopt similar traits, often for mutual benefit or survival. This can involve mimicking appearance, behavior, or sounds. For example, some harmless insects resemble dangerous or toxic species to deter predators—a form of mimicry called Batesian. When several species share this resemblance, forming a group that benefits from mutual protection, it creates a mimicry complex. This interconnected relationship enhances their chances of avoiding predators and increases the overall survivability of the species involved.
