Milosevic trial
Slobodan Milošević's trial was a United Nations-backed court proceeding in The Hague, where he faced charges related to his role in the Yugoslav Wars (1990s). Accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide, the trial aimed to establish accountability for atrocities committed during conflicts in Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo. Milošević argued he was defending Serbia and Serbia’s interests. The trial lasted several years but was suspended in 2006 due to his death before a verdict was reached. It highlighted the challenges of prosecuting complex political and military leadership for war crimes.
