Military Government
Military government occurs when the armed forces take control of a country's authority, often during or after a conflict, political upheaval, or crisis. Instead of civilian leaders, military officers run the government, making decisions about laws, policies, and security. This form of rule may be temporary or extend over a longer period and often involves suspending civil liberties or democratic processes. While intended to restore order or stability, military governments can limit freedoms and may govern without the usual checks and balances of civilian government.
