Military Airlift Command

The Military Airlift Command (MAC) was a major component of the United States Air Force responsible for transporting troops, equipment, and supplies. Established during the Cold War, its mission was to ensure rapid and efficient global air transportation for military operations and humanitarian efforts. MAC operated a fleet of cargo aircraft to support various missions, including disaster relief and military deployments. In 1992, MAC was restructured and became part of the Air Mobility Command, continuing its legacy of military airlift operations and enhancing the U.S. military's logistical capabilities.
