Militant tendency

The Militant tendency was a faction within the British Labour Party during the 1970s and 1980s characterized by its hardline socialist views. Members aimed to promote revolutionary change through active, often confrontational, political campaigning and organizing, believing in a Marxist approach to socialism. They sought to influence the Labour Party from within and were sometimes controversial for their aggressive tactics and commitment to class struggle. Over time, the Labour Party movement distanced itself from Militant, considering some of their methods and policies too extreme.
