Darius Milhaud was a French composer and a key figure in 20th-century music. Born in 1892, he was known for his innovative use of jazz influences and polytonality, which is the simultaneous use of multiple key centers. Milhaud's work spans operas, ballets, chamber music, and symphonic pieces, often blending different musical styles. He was a member of the group known as "Les Six," which aimed to break away from the traditions of Romanticism. Milhaud's compositions are celebrated for their vibrant rhythms and rich harmonies, making significant contributions to modern classical music. He passed away in 1974.
