Émile Driant
Émile Driant was a French politician and military officer born in 1855. He served as a colonel and was involved in the French Army, particularly in coastal defense. Politically, he was a conservative member of the French Parliament and strongly opposed pacifist movements, advocating for military preparedness. Driant is notably remembered for his role during the outbreak of World War I, where he was a vocal supporter of France's defense, and tragically, he was killed during the Battle of Verdun in 1916. His life exemplifies a commitment to national security and military service.
