Mihrab
A mihrab is a decorative niche or alcove located in the wall of a mosque, indicating the qibla—the direction Muslims face during prayer, towards the Kaaba in Mecca. It serves both a spiritual and functional purpose by helping worshippers align their prayers correctly. Architecturally, mihrabs vary in design and size, often featuring intricate tile work or calligraphy, creating a focal point within the prayer area. Beyond its practical role, it also symbolizes the sacred direction and enhances the aesthetic and spiritual atmosphere of the mosque.
