Midichlorians

Midichlorians are microscopic life forms in the Star Wars universe that exist within the cells of living beings. They are said to serve as a connection between individuals and the Force, a mystical energy that binds the galaxy together. Essentially, the more midichlorians one has, the stronger their potential to sense and use the Force. This concept was introduced to provide a biological basis for Force sensitivity, suggesting that one's connection to the Force is, in part, determined by the quantity of midichlorians in their cells.
