Midianites

The Midianites were an ancient Semitic people mentioned in biblical texts, primarily associated with the region of Midian, located in northwest Arabian Peninsula. Historically, they were nomadic traders and often interacted with the Israelites, sometimes as adversaries and at other times as allies. The story of Moses includes significant encounters with the Midianites, notably his time in Midian after fleeing Egypt. Their culture and influence are evident in stories throughout the Hebrew Bible, particularly in the Book of Numbers, where conflicts between them and the Israelites are described. Over time, the Midianites faded from historical records.
