Micrometeoroids

Micrometeoroids are tiny particles from space, often smaller than a grain of sand, traveling at very high speeds through the Earth's atmosphere and around the solar system. Originating from comets, asteroids, or debris from other planetary bodies, they pose minimal threat to humans but can cause tiny impacts on spacecraft and satellites. When they enter our atmosphere, they usually burn up due to friction, creating streaks of light called shooting stars. Despite their small size, their high velocities make them significant in terms of space environment hazards, especially for spacecraft and space stations that operate outside Earth's atmosphere.
