Micrographic Surgery

Micrographic surgery, most commonly known as Mohs surgery, is a precise medical technique used to remove skin cancers. During the procedure, the surgeon removes the cancerous tissue in very thin layers, examining each layer under a microscope immediately after removal. This allows the surgeon to determine if all the cancer has been excised while sparing as much healthy tissue as possible. The process continues until no remaining cancer cells are detected. Micrographic surgery is highly effective for certain skin cancers, especially those in delicate areas or prone to recurrence, offering high cure rates with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
