Microfilaments

Microfilaments are tiny, thread-like structures found inside cells, made primarily of a protein called actin. They form part of the cell's cytoskeleton, providing mechanical support, maintaining cell shape, and enabling movement. They also assist in important functions like cell division, muscle contraction, and the transport of materials within the cell. Despite their small size, microfilaments are dynamic, constantly forming and breaking down to allow the cell to adapt and respond to its environment efficiently.
