Microfilament

Microfilaments are tiny, thread-like structures inside cells made of a protein called actin. They form part of the cell's cytoskeleton, providing support and helping maintain its shape. Microfilaments are flexible and dynamic, enabling cells to move, change shape, and divide. They also assist in inside-cell transport and in muscle contractions. Think of microfilaments as the cell’s internal scaffolding and engine, essential for many vital processes that keep the cell functioning properly.
