MicroBooNE
MicroBooNE is a scientific experiment designed to study tiny particles called neutrinos, which are elusive and pass through matter almost undetected. Located deep underground at Fermilab in Illinois, it uses a large tank filled with ultra-pure liquid argon to detect these particles when they interact. The goal is to better understand neutrinos' properties and behaviors, which can help unlock secrets about the universe’s fundamental nature. MicroBooNE also investigates unexplained signals from previous experiments, aiming to clarify whether new physics beyond current theories might be at play.
