Michael Schwerner

Michael Schwerner was an American civil rights activist and leader known for his efforts to end racial segregation and promote justice in the 1960s. Along with other activists, he worked to register Black voters and challenge discriminatory laws, particularly in the South. In 1964, Schwerner was murdered by violent segregationists in Mississippi, a tragic event that highlighted the dangers faced by those fighting for civil rights.
