Miami Declaration
The Miami Declaration was a statement issued in 2000 by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to express concern over what it perceived as Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims worldwide. It aimed to promote understanding, protect the rights of Muslim communities, and counter negative stereotypes. The declaration also called for respect of Islamic values and condemned acts of violence targeting Muslims. Essentially, it was an effort by Muslim countries to unite in addressing challenges faced by Muslims globally and to promote tolerance and mutual respect among different cultures and religions.
