Metastatic Bone Disease

Metastatic bone disease occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site (like the breast, prostate, or lungs) to the bones. This can weaken bones, causing pain, fractures, and other complications. Unlike primary bone cancer, which begins in the bones, metastatic disease originates elsewhere in the body. Treatment may involve medications, radiation, or surgery to manage symptoms and strengthen bones, but the underlying cancer often still requires attention. Early diagnosis and management are crucial for improving quality of life.
