Metaphor in Language
A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action by comparing it to something else, suggesting they share qualities, without using "like" or "as." It helps create vivid images or deeper understanding by linking familiar ideas to new or complex ones. For example, saying "time is a thief" implies that time takes away moments of our life just as a thief takes possessions. Metaphors are commonly used in everyday language, literature, and speech to enrich communication, evoke emotion, and add depth to descriptions.
