Metallic Properties

Metallic properties refer to the characteristic features of metals, such as good electrical and thermal conductivity, malleability (ability to be hammered into sheets), ductility (ability to be stretched into wires), luster (shiny appearance), and a tendency to lose electrons and form positive ions during chemical reactions. These properties arise from the metallic bonding, where electrons are free to move throughout the metal's structure, allowing metals to conduct heat and electricity, be shaped without breaking, and possess a shiny surface. Together, these attributes define what makes metals useful and distinct from other materials.
