metabolic syndrome criteria
Metabolic syndrome is a group of conditions that increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes. It includes five main factors: high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess abdominal fat, high triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood), and low HDL cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol). If someone has at least three of these factors, they are considered to have metabolic syndrome. Recognizing and managing these conditions through lifestyle changes and medical care can reduce the risk of serious health problems.
