Messier Catalogue
The Messier Catalogue is a list of 110 astronomical objects, created by the French astronomer Charles Messier in the 18th century. It includes various types of deep-sky objects such as galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. Messier aimed to catalog objects that could be confused with comets, which he was searching for, so that astronomers could distinguish between potential comets and other celestial phenomena. Today, the catalogue serves as a guide for amateur and professional astronomers, helping them locate interesting and prominent objects in the night sky, many of which are visible with small telescopes or even binoculars.
