Mesosystem

The mesosystem is a concept from developmental psychology that refers to the interactions between the different immediate environments in a person's life, such as relationships between family and school or neighborhood and workplace. It emphasizes how these environments influence each other and, in turn, impact an individual’s development. For example, strong communication between a child's parents and teachers can support better academic and social outcomes. The mesosystem recognizes that a person's growth is interconnected across various settings, and positive or negative influences in one area can affect others, shaping overall development.
